The liquid-ring compressor is a common type of centrifugal compressor that also functions as a vacuum pump, primarily used for compressing gases at pressures higher than atmospheric. It relies on a liquid—typically water or oil—as both a sealant and coolant, forming a stable liquid ring during the compression process to efficiently achieve compression. This technology excels at handling high-temperature, easily decomposable, highly corrosive, and flammable/explosive gases. FUTEN’s liquid-ring compressor series stands out by enabling the processing of larger gas volumes with significantly lower energy consumption, thereby reducing both energy usage and operational costs. The product line is available in single-stage and two-stage models. The single-stage liquid-ring compressors cover a wide operating range from 180 to 16,500 m³/h, while the two-stage versions operate within a range of 90 to 1,800 m³/h.
Features and Application Scope:
The liquid-ring compressor boasts high discharge pressure, a compact design, smooth operation, and isothermal compression—making it ideally suited for conveying flammable and explosive gases. Applications include compressing various gases in industries such as chemical and petrochemicals, including polyethylene, styrene, oxides, vinyl chloride monomer, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, benzene, butadiene, chlorine, and more.
